What type of iron is in Spatone?
Spatone contains ferrous iron (Fe 2+).
Our Spatone product range provides naturally sourced iron-rich water from Snowdonia, Wales. Each sachet provides you with 5mg of iron. The iron helps release natural energy and maintain a healthy immune system.
Not everyone needs to take an iron supplement however low iron levels are common, and not all people are aware their diet may be deficient in iron.
Spatone can be taken straight from the sachet, or with juice high in Vitamin C. We recommend a single sachet in the morning on an empty stomach, ideally 30 mins before breakfast.
Spatone Apple has a delicious apple flavour as well as added vitamin C, which helps with iron absorption.
‘Immunity’ is what you have when your immune system does the remarkable job of defending your body against disease-causing germs. It’s important to maintain a healthy immune system to avoid getting ill.
Iron contributes to the normal function of the immune system.
Diet is so important when trying to maintain a strong immune system, focus on foods rich in vitamin C and antioxidants. Try colourful fruits and vegetables including oranges, berries, carrots and spinach.

Many multivitamins contain iron, so you should check the labelling before using the product.
As iron is a difficult mineral for the human body to absorb, iron supplements normally contain more iron than you need. The excess unabsorbed iron can irritate your stomach and cause constipation.
Provided your teeth are cleaned regularly you shouldn’t need to worry about stains from Spatone liquid iron supplements.
Unfortunately our sachets are not currently recyclable, but without them we wouldn’t be able to put the product on the market. The unique composition of Spatone presents us with a number of challenges in terms of compatibility with packaging materials.
Spatone is registered with the Vegan Society.
