To use, simply take it straight from the sachet. To get the most out of Spatone®, it is advised to take on an empty stomach. It’s best to allow a 30-45 minute gap before eating or drinking.

Is Spatone suitable for vegetarians?

Both Spatone® Original and Spatone® Apple are suitable for vegetarians and vegans and are registered with the UK Vegetarian Society. 

Is Spatone suitable for diabetics?

Spatone® Original does not contain any carbohydrates or sugar. However, Spatone® Apple contains an apple juice concentrate which has a small amount of carbohydrate 9.8g of which 2.6g are sugars per sachet.

Is Spatone suitable for children?

Spatone® is suitable for children over the age of 2, but please consult your health care practitioner before giving Spatone® liquid iron to children.

Is Spatone gluten free?

Spatone® does not contain any ingredients that contain gluten.

Can I take Spatone straight from the sachet?

Spatone® sachets are designed to be easy to take on the go, therefore you can enjoy straight from the sachet.

Can I take Spatone on an empty stomach?

Yes, we recommend you take Spatone® iron-rich water on an empty stomach ie. first thing in the morning, 30 -45 mins before breakfast.

Can I add Spatone to other drinks?

You can add Spatone® to any cold beverage of your choice. We recommend that you choose a drink high in Vitamin C, as it helps to increase iron absorption.

Can I take too much Spatone?

You should always follow the directions of use. They are on the back of both the sachet and Spatone® box.

Can I take Spatone with medicine?

If you are on any medication or have a pre-existing condition, you should consult your doctor or pharmacist before taking any food supplements.

Can I take a multivitamin with Spatone?

Many multivitamins contain iron, so you should check the labeling before using the product.

Why do some people find taking iron supplements upsets their stomach or gives them constipation?

As iron is a difficult mineral for the human body to absorb, iron supplements normally contain more iron than you need. The excess unabsorbed iron can irritate your stomach and cause constipation.

Will Spatone stain my teeth?

Provided your teeth are cleaned regularly you shouldn’t need to worry about stains from Spatone® liquid iron supplements.

Are the Spatone sachets recyclable?

Unfortunately, our sachets are not currently recyclable, but without them we wouldn’t be able to put the product on the market. The unique composition of Spatone® presents us with a number of challenges in terms of compatibility with packaging materials.
